Schwetzingen’s Connection (1870) with the Rheinbahn Railway Line
August the 4th 1870 marked the dawning the railway era in Schwetzingen. Around 1900 the railway connection proved to be the “gateway to the world” and ushered in the age of industrialisation: large companies could now sell their products throughout Germany, Europe and the world. After World War 2, the railway station gradually dwindled in importance.
