Enzgärten

The 2015 horticultural show meant a new, ten-hectare green centre for the town of Mühlacker, which has a population of around 26,500. The redesigned site offers citizens a large city park. On the urban side of the town, a new rose garden, a perennial garden, a pergola as a walkway and wave walk and the seven-metre-high viewing hill, filled with 5,000 cubic metres of excavated material from the renaturation of the River Enz, were created. From there, visitors can enjoy a complete view of the Enz landscape and the new green urban spaces - including a new square, Auf dem Wertle, which is shaded by mulberry trees in summer.coming from the town centre, the citizens of Mühlacker pass the Citizens' Forum of the Mühlacker Community Foundation, an event and meeting place for people, located directly at the entrance. The neighbouring garden of Villa Bauer is reminiscent of the former exotic garden of the mill owner, where southern aromatic plants and banana trees were already growing at the end of the 19th century. Right next door, 18 nozzles pump jets of water into the fountain square of the Mühlacker public utility company. At night, the square is illuminated and the 80-year-old row of maple trees on the Dammweg remains a landmark on the Dürrmenz side. Dry stone walls, typical of the landscape, bridge the difference in height between Dammweg and the new and old allotments, which are bordered by wooden slatted fences and lined with wild fruit trees.the town had three large facilities built for young people. The new youth centre, a playground and a skate park. On one side of the children's playground, a replica of the radio transmitter masts that characterise the cityscape stands out. On the other side, there are play areas with sand, water and driftwood elements. As with the playground, future users were involved in the planning of the 400 square metre skate park.
