Experience route 2: Through the Brehmbach valley to Hoher Herrgott

The medieval old town center of Tauberbischofsheim invites you to linger: in the green spaces along the former city wall and the Hunger Tower you can stretch your legs wonderfully before finally settling down for a coffee at the foot of the Turret Tower, the city's landmark. A visit to the marketplace is also worthwhile. There, especially the town hall can be admired, one of the few in southern Germany built in the neo-Gothic style.
If you prefer to experience culture in another way outside the former city walls, the wine educational trail in the municipal vineyard “Edelberg” is a good option. Here you can either discover the vineyard habitat on your own or, if you wish, also under expert guidance. Of course, such a stroll through the wine rows is most enjoyable when you can also taste the fine drops along the way. Therefore, it is worth registering this excursion in advance.
On the section from Tauberbischofsheim to Königheim, you cycle on the Odenwald Madonnen bike path, which has been awarded 3 stars by the ADFC.
Route sections:
Tauberbischofsheim - Königheim (8 km)

Note:
In the brochure "Regioradeln" the experience route 2 is still listed as a circular route until early 2024. From Wertheim am Main, the bike path "Lovely Tauber Valley - The Classic" can be used for the return journey to Tauberbischofsheim.

Directions
This decent day route takes you from Tauberbischofsheim first through the Brehmbach valley up to the Külsheim local mountain “Hoher Herrgott”, where the cabinet wine of the same name also takes root. After you have thoroughly explored this area, it goes just behind Sachsenhausen back down into the Tauber valley. From Waldenhausen you follow the meandering river, which is the name-giver for the entire region, upstream until the route returns to its starting point in Tauberbischofsheim.
