Heilbronn Horse Market 2026

The Heilbronn Horse Market will be presented in a new format in 2026. For the first time, this traditional event will take place at the fairgrounds at Wertwiesenpark and along the Neckarhalde.

Fun park for the little ones: 

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Culinary diversity: Culinary highlights are well catered for: in addition to classics such as sausage, Maultaschen, and Langos, there are always new food stalls.

Horse awards

at the Heilbronn Riding Club on Trappensee: Special horses will be presented to the jury. On Saturday, February 21, starting at 9 a.m., riding and working horses will be judged. On Sunday, February 22, starting at 9 a.m., it will be the turn of the breeding horses. The award ceremony for the winners of the four categories will take place at 1 p.m. in the riding hall.

Equestrian show 

“The Greatest Show – The Magic of Horses” on Sunday, February 22, at 3 p.m. at the Heilbronn Riding Club at Trappensee.

BICYCLE
Bicycle paths along the Neckar to the Neckarhalde parking lot or to the festival grounds at the open-air stage in Wertwiesenpark.

PARKING / PARKING GARAGES
Theresienwiese parking lot (P&R)
Walk to the Pferdemarkt (approx. 15 min / approx. 1.2 km): from the parking lot, head south (towards the banks of the Neckar). Then follow the footpath/cycle path along the Neckar to the Anna-Ziegler-Brücke (flood barrier) in Wertwiesenpark to the festival grounds near the open-air stage.

Viehweide parking lot in Böckingen
Walk to the Pferdemarkt (approx. 18 min / approx. 1.3 km): from the parking lot, head south / toward Sontheim, then cross the Sontheimer Bridge. Alternatively, after the bridge, turn left toward the south entrance of Wertwiesen. Walk through Wertwiesenpark to the festival grounds near the open-air stage.

Wertwiesenpark P1, P2, and P3 parking lots
Walk to the horse market (approx. 7 min. / approx. 500 m): From the parking lot, head toward the south entrance of Wertwiesenpark, walk through Wertwiesenpark to the festival grounds near the open-air stage.

Stadtgalerie parking garage
Opening hours: Daily from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Cost: €1.50 per hour or part thereof.
Walk to the horse market (approx. 15 min / approx. 1.1 km): Take the exit towards Götzenturm in the Stadtgalerie. Follow the Neckar river on the footpath and cycle path in a south-easterly direction / Wertwiesenpark. The horse market grounds start at the Neckarhalde outdoor swimming pool. Alternatively, take the shuttle from Götzenturm.

FAQ ABOUT ARRIVAL
Can I park on the grounds / drive right up to the venue?
No, Knorrstraße, Schoettlestraße, and Neckarhalde are only accessible to residents and suppliers from Friday, February 20, to Sunday, February 22.

Can vehicles with disabled parking permits drive to the site?
Ten parking spaces for vehicles with disabled parking permits are available at the “Neckarhalde” entrance.
