Public transit

Rail travelers can comfortably reach the "Liebliches Taubertal" via Würzburg ICE station. The Stuttgart-Heilbronn-Lauda connection takes you directly to the heart of this holiday region, where you can use the Main and Tauber railways between Freudenberg and Niederstetten.

For your holiday, use the Tauberbahn between Wertheim - Lauda - Weikersheim and Schrozberg or the Maintalbahn from Wertheim to Freudenberg/Kirschfurt.

In the summer months, the number of cycling/hiking trains and buses in the Tauber valley increases, as does the Maintalsprinter from Würzburg to Röttingen.

Directions

After leaving the medieval town center of Rothenburg, there is a steep descent from the plateau down to the valley floor. After that, there are a few hilly sections in the Tauber meadow.

This stage runs on local roads with little traffic and on paved farm roads.
