The 17 km route starts in Boxtal and immediately challenges your calf muscles. You hike up on a steep forest path to the Hohe Steine. The natural monument and geotope makes time tangible, as the sandstone rock formation was created by erosion. And stones remain a theme for the day. After all, you encounter two memorial stones in the forest: one is dedicated to Saint Wendelin, the other bears the unusual name Hoi Hopp. There is a legend surrounding the latter, which involves a border dispute and a ghost.
The route leads back to Boxtal via idyllic forest paths. In the final meters, you can still enjoy some beautiful distant views.
By the way, in some parts of the route, forest and logging work may occasionally take place.
