The starting point is in Königheim, a typical Franconian village with a beautiful Baroque church.
From the church square, go up a set of stairs into the beautiful vineyards of Kirchberg. With a wonderful panoramic view of Königheim and the Brehmbach valley, you hike on a flat farm track to the “Hohe Bild” – an idyllic ensemble consisting of a wayside shrine, a field cross, and a mighty lime tree on the old pilgrimage route to the pilgrimage site Walldürn.
Then continue through a dry valley and later through an ascending high forest to Weikerstetten. From there, you follow the path through the high forest over to the Brehmbach valley to Gissigheim. There, you can visit the church of Saint Peter and Paul, the Guardian Angel Chapel, and the grotto by the cemetery. Back to Königheim, the hiking route runs along the west side of the Brehmbach valley through fields, vineyards, and coniferous forest, where you can still see stone walls.
