From the church in Distelhausen, the path leads gently uphill first through the village and then through fields up to the ridge of the wooded Herrenberg above Gerlachsheim. Through extensive vineyards, you walk on bitumen-paved vineyard paths with moderate slopes down to the Grünbach in Gerlachsheim. Along the way, you repeatedly have an excellent view of the baroque church of the former Gerlachsheim monastery. After a short distance in the village, the hiking path runs on partly natural agricultural roads to Grünsfeld. After crossing the town, it goes over the Rothenberg on bitumen-paved agricultural roads back to Distelhausen. From the church in Distelhausen, a detour through the floodplain to the St. Wolfgang chapel near the cemetery in Distelhausen is possible. The simple length of the detour is 1.0 km.
