It starts in the wine town of Lauda-Königshofen on the Tauber. After a few kilometers, you turn into the charming Umpfer valley and follow it to Uiffingen. From there, it goes on to the beautiful Kirnau valley and finally through the magnificent Odenwald to the Main at Miltenberg. You cycle through the Main valley to Wertheim, where the Tauber flows into the Main in the shadow of the old castle. Following the Tauber upstream, you reach the starting point again in Lauda-Königshofen.
The varied landscape with river valleys and the heights of the Odenwald is simply wonderful. Along the way, you will find many bike stations and rest areas for a restful picnic. The pretty, historic towns along the route invite you to explore and stop for a break.
The western ring of the Main-Tauber-Franconian Bike Eight is often divided into four stages. The first stage leads from Lauda-Königshofen to Buchen (about 55 kilometers), and the second from Buchen via Walldürn to Miltenberg on the Main (33.2 kilometers). The third stage follows the Main from Miltenberg to Wertheim (just under 35 kilometers), and the fourth stage runs from Wertheim to Lauda-Königshofen over 37 kilometers completely through the Lovely Tauber valley.
If you have not had enough of the beautiful landscape, you can also explore it on the eastern ring of the Bike Eight.
