With the Main as a constant companion, you cycle on the Main cycle path via Hofstetten and Steinbach to Lohr am Main. If you stroll through Lohr with its old half-timbered houses, the historic fishermen’s quarter, and the worth-visiting old town, or visit the charming Kurmainzer Castle with the Spessart Museum, you can easily imagine that Snow White was supposed to have lived here. If you like, you can follow the footsteps of the fairy tale character – even the richly decorated queen’s mirror can be admired in the castle.
During the Spessart summer, music spreads through the town: concerts, theater performances, and cabaret, as well as a huge beer tent at the Spessart festival week at the beginning of August, attract visitors from near and far.
Besides the Rad-Achter, the Main cycle path, the Kahl valley-Spessart cycle path, and three routes in the Spessart bike forest make Lohr am Main a worthwhile (stage) destination. The Lohr hosts offer cyclists nice accommodations and typical Franconian dishes.
