The Ostring runs in a circular route of just under 223 kilometers from Lauda-Königshofen via Weikersheim, Ochsenfurt, Würzburg, and Wertheim back to the starting point Lauda-Königshofen.
A variety of half-timbered towns, castles, palaces, and monasteries line the way along the two rivers Tauber and Main. Beautiful meadows alternate with orchards, grain fields, and pastures. You’ll find cozy picnic spots everywhere. During breaks, your gaze glides over the Main or the Tauber, further on expansive vineyards and the hills covered with lovely mixed deciduous forest.
You can easily divide the route according to your taste and sporting ambition. In the beautiful towns along the way there are accommodations in great variety, shopping opportunities, and of course the wonderful beer gardens and wine cellars. Here you will be spoiled with Franconian cuisine and a cool beer or one of the excellent wines ripening on the slopes.
