Main-Tauber-Fränkischer Rad-Achter: Outer loop 10th stage
- 1:40h
- 24.1 km
- 23 m
- 36 m
You leave Marktheidenfeld heading south, riding via Lengfurt to Homburg with the Main as your constant companion. Homburg Castle, the dripstone cave, and the paper mill are also worth seeing. Also noteworthy is the wine region "Homburger Kallmuth", whose fine wines are worth a tasting. Just a few more kilometers and you will ride again into the Baden-Württemberg section of our cycling route. After the large Main loop, through Bettingen and Urphar, the town of Wertheim welcomes you at the confluence of the Tauber and Main rivers. In Wertheim itself, cultural medieval times are present everywhere. The castle, at its feet the historic old town, the "House of the Four Crowned", the collegiate church as the burial place of the Counts of Wertheim and the Löwenstein-Wertheim counts, the Mary Chapel, the Spitzer Tower, the Kittstein Gate and the Angel Fountain, the County Museum in the old town hall and the Glass Museum on Mühlenstraße offer interesting insights into the history of the northernmost town of the Main-Tauber district and the Tauber valley.
