The Gruffelo Trail in Weinheim

If you want to experience the Gruffelo and the other heroes from the well-known children’s book up close, you should follow the 600-metre-long themed trail in Weinheim.
Since 2022 there has been the great Gruffelo Trail in Weinheim. It is the first trail of its kind in southern Germany. The mouse, the fox, the squirrel, the owl, the snake, the Gruffelo child and the Gruffelo personally stand on the 600-metre trail to the castle ruins of Windeck. All were carved by the chainsaw artist Gert Hildebrandt from Odenwald Oak and for each figure there is an explanatory board and a riddle to solve (at the moment only in german). Additional information about the path, the city or the Grüffelo books can be accessed via a QR code (at the moment only in german). The best way to start is at Schlossberg. At the beginning, the path is quite steep, but it can still be used by wheelchair as well as by pram.
